Research

My research lies in the intersection of far-right politics, democracy, and political behaviour, with a regional focus on Europe. I’m particularly interested in the relationship between radicalism/extremism and democracy, as well as the role of gender in far-right politics.

Part of my current research examines the socioeconomic agenda of the far right – specifically welfare policies related to women/family and employment –  and how they erode democratic norms and undermine (liberal) democracy. My work here highlights the gendered dimensions of these socioeconomic programmes by analysing how far-right actors embed traditional gender norms within their broader economic and social policy agenda to weaken liberal democratic institutions.
